Femme Metal Music

Why did I create this Hub?  Because I needed a way for fans to spread the word about these unknown bands.  To make this happen I've included HTML for banners which fans can highlight, copy and paste to their blogs and websites.  And I will include more links and places to spread the word about FEM-Metal.  Fans, go nuts !  Use Twitter, blogs, Stumble Upon, Digg, any way that you can tell others about these metal bands. 

FEM-Metal or Femme-Metal is short for Female Fronted Metal Band. Female Fronted Metal includes many sub-genres of music: Symphonic rock/metal, Gothic rock/metal, Doom metal, Progressive metal, Death metal, and other types. The main criterion for FEM-Metal is a female lead singer with or without male vocal accompaniment.

i am very much against girls SINGING in metal however if they pull off death vocals well its can be pretty f**g awesome unfortunately the only band i know with this is arch enemy but you guys probably get this a lot and make it of the few suggestions in your libraries i also hate guys who sing in metal (at least in death metal and metalcore) if you think nickleback is lame how can you turn around and let a deathmetal band get away with that whiny s**t if you tell me your f**g heavy i better not find some s**y whiny verse haflway through a wicked track or im gonna bottle you next time you open for the band i actually wanted to see

The only exception I can think of is Antimatter, so they are left out of this statement: Female vocals whether it's soft crooning ones or the awful, awful "operatic" ones kill ANY song they are shoehorned into. So many bands who are musically good ruined by shoving an eye-candy hussy behind the mic.

      I cannot disagree more strongly with the statements made above by the Anti Female Vocals in Heavy Music Group. It surprises me that people would take the time and effort to create a group dedicated to opposing Female Vocals in Metal Music.

      At present there are over 550 bands with female lead vocalists. As a fan of female fronted metal bands, I have yet to hear even a tenth of them. So I suspect that members of the Anti Female group have formed an opinion on a single experience with one band.

      It is true that not all female led bands have the same level of skill or talent or rapport with fans. But to label them all "eye candy" is denigrating. Female musicians and vocalists deserve the same chance as their male counterparts to demonstrate their abilities.

      I find that I was drawn to Symphonic metal because I acquired a taste for the female vocalist's skill, talent and creativity. The stark contrast between the heavy guitar riffs, the growling male vocals and the female vocals makes the genre what it is. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder or in this case the ear of the listener.

      I hope we will be active and dedicated enough to overcome the opposition. Will love triumph over hate? Which side is more passionate? Join our cause. Your voice could turn the tide.
